Secrets To Success

The secret to success – something we all wish to attain – it is ever present, we see it, sometimes grasp it, but never seem to completely own it. Success and its beauty lies fully in the eye of the beholder. Your measurement of it may not compare to that of another, however if you realize this clandestine desire for success, what happens next?

We’d be contradicting ourselves if we said we had the answer (or what you should do with it), but we couldn’t resist the opportunity to share some weighty tips to get you heading in its direction. Yarah Ortlieb is the owner of Yarah Designs, a flourishing and unique event planning company. Simply put, “We guarantee a sense of fun and uniqueness to all our events (and clients).” Yarah shared some of her reasons for success with us. We couldn’t agree more with her points, now you be the judge.

  • Enjoy what you do.  Show passion!   If you’re interested in what you’re doing, others will find what you are doing interesting. Make what you are doing interesting to other people.
  • Set Goals. Be as specific as possible. These goals can she short-term, medium-term and long-term. By defining your goals, you define yourself and shape your future direction.
  • Be organized, get all the details and plan.  All this will help you make wiser decisions and acknowledge your mistakes. We all make them and that is part of the process.  Just be sure to learn from them.
  • Surround yourself with positive people and environments.  Your thoughts, words, focus and environment have power.  Think, speak and focus on success and those doors will open to you. There will always be hardships and failures but those occurrences are necessary in the path to success. Leaders have positive attitudes and positivity in contagious. That is what makes most leaders winners.
  • Use Social Media!  Often there is an abundance of free advertising through this channel. Never stop networking yourself and stay connected to other professionals in your field.  These connections often lead to opportunities.
  • Never stop learning and acquiring new skills.  Try and stay keen on what is out there and add your personal creative touch.
  • Innovate! Don’t be afraid to be different and remain true to your own ideas and creativity versus status quo. Mediocrity does not breed success.
  • Be Nice to Work With. People want to help others if they are nice people. If you are positive and a pleasure to be around, so much of your business can be referrals.
  • Have Fun! Enjoy the road.
